Ingredients
- 2 cans (5 oz each) of tuna, drained
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 1/4 cup finely chopped celery
- 1/4 cup finely chopped red bell pepper
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil, for frying
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the drained tuna, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, chopped onion, celery, red bell pepper, and minced garlic.
- In a separate small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, Old Bay seasoning (if using), salt, and pepper.
- Pour the mayonnaise mixture over the tuna mixture and stir until well combined.
- Shape the mixture into patties, using about 1/4 cup of mixture for each patty.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, carefully add the tuna patties to the skillet.
- Cook the patties for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and heated through.
- Remove the tuna cakes from the skillet and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.
