Stuffed Italian Meatloaf Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 lb Italian sausage
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs

  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 1 egg
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, Italian sausage, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, garlic, onion, bell pepper, egg, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  3. On a large piece of parchment paper or plastic wrap, spread the meat mixture into a rectangle, about 1/2 inch thick.
  4. Spread the marinara sauce evenly over the meat mixture, leaving a small border around the edges.
  5. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the marinara sauce.
  6. Carefully roll the meat mixture into a log, using the parchment paper or plastic wrap to help you. Pinch the edges to seal.
  7. Place the meatloaf seam side down in a baking dish.
  8. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until the meatloaf is cooked through and the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
  9. Let the meatloaf rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing.
