Ingredients

  • 1 large head of cabbage
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • Chopped parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Carefully remove the core from the cabbage and place the whole head of cabbage into the boiling water. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until the outer leaves are softened and can be easily removed. Remove the cabbage from the water and set aside to cool.
  3. In a skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, and cook until the onion is translucent.
  4. Stir in the cooked rice, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, paprika, salt, and pepper. Let the mixture simmer for about 5 minutes.
  5. While the filling is simmering, carefully peel off the softened cabbage leaves, being careful not to tear them. Trim any tough stems from the leaves.
  6. Place a spoonful of the beef and rice mixture onto each cabbage leaf, then fold the sides of the leaf over the filling and roll it up tightly.
  7. Place the cabbage rolls seam-side down in a baking dish. Pour the beef broth over the rolls.
  8. Cover the baking dish with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the cabbage rolls are cooked through and tender.
  9. Once cooked, remove the foil and sprinkle chopped parsley on top for garnish if desired. Serve hot and enjoy your delicious stuffed cabbage rolls!
