Ingredients

  • 1 lb thinly sliced ribeye steak or flank steak
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced (optional)
  • 1 cup shredded provolone cheese (or cheese of your choice)
  • 1 package egg roll wrappers
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Filling:
  2. In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the thinly sliced steak to the skillet. Cook until browned and no longer pink, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Remove the steak from the skillet and set it aside.
  5. In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil.
  6. Add the sliced onion, green bell pepper, and mushrooms (if using). Cook until the vegetables are tender, about 5-7 minutes.
  7. Return the cooked steak to the skillet with the vegetables.
  8. Stir in the Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Cook for another 2 minutes to combine the flavors.
  9. Remove the skillet from heat and let the mixture cool slightly.
  10. Assemble the Egg Rolls:
  11. Lay an egg roll wrapper on a clean, dry surface with one corner pointing towards you (diamond shape).
  12. Place about 2-3 tablespoons of the steak and vegetable mixture in the center of the wrapper.
  13. Sprinkle shredded cheese over the filling.
  14. Fold the bottom corner over the filling, then fold in the sides, and roll up tightly. Use a little water to seal the edges.
  15. Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.
  16. Fry the Egg Rolls:
  17. In a large, deep skillet or fryer, heat oil to 350°F (175°C).
  18. Carefully add the egg rolls to the hot oil, a few at a time, without overcrowding.
  19. Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes, turning occasionally.
  20. Remove the egg rolls with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
  21. Serve:
  22. Allow the egg rolls to cool slightly before serving.
  23. Serve with your favorite dipping sauce (cheese sauce, ketchup, or spicy mayo).

Enjoy your Philly Cheesesteak Egg Rolls!
