Ingredients

  • 1/2 tsp fennel seeds (saunf)
  • 1/4 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)
  • Pinch of black salt

Instructions

  1. Dry Roast the Seeds: In a pan over low heat, dry roast the fennel seeds and cumin seeds for a minute or two, until fragrant. Let them cool.
  2. Grind the Dry Ingredients: Grind the roasted seeds, sugar (or jaggery), and black salt in a mortar and pestle or a spice grinder until a coarse powder forms.
  3. Chop the Nuts and Fruits: If your dried fruits are not already chopped, chop them into small pieces. Roughly chop the nuts as well.
  4. Combine Everything: In a bowl, mix the chopped nuts and fruits, desiccated coconut, and the ground spice mixture.
  5. Store: Keep your mini churan in an airtight container at room temperature. It will stay fresh for up to 2 weeks.
