Fluffy Condensed Milk Bread RECIPE

This Fluffy Condensed Milk Bread is incredibly soft, light, and has a delicate sweetness from the condensed milk. It’s perfect for breakfast, as a snack, or even as a delightful dessert.

Ingredients

  • 3 1/2 cups (440g) all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/4 tsp (1 packet) active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) warm water
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/4 cup (60g) sugar
  • 1/4 cup (60g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) whole milk

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Yeast:
  • In a small bowl, combine the warm water and 1 teaspoon of sugar.
  • Sprinkle the yeast over the water and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
  1. Make the Dough:
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, remaining sugar, and salt.
  • Add the eggs, condensed milk, softened butter, and the yeast mixture.
  • Begin to mix the ingredients, gradually adding the whole milk.
  • Knead the dough by hand or with a stand mixer fitted with a dough hook attachment, until the dough is smooth and elastic (about 10 minutes by hand or 5 minutes with a mixer).
  1. First Rise:
  • Transfer the dough to a lightly greased bowl, cover it with plastic wrap or a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1-2 hours or until it has doubled in size.
  1. Shape the Dough:
  • Punch down the risen dough to release any air bubbles.
  • Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and divide it into equal portions (depending on your desired bread size).
  • Shape each portion into a ball or desired shape and place them into a greased bread pan or baking dish.
  1. Second Rise:
  • Cover the shaped dough with a damp cloth and let it rise again in a warm place for about 45 minutes to 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.
  1. Bake the Bread:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Once the dough has risen, brush the top with a little bit of milk or egg wash for a glossy finish.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
  1. Cool and Serve:
  • Allow the bread to cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • Slice and enjoy your fluffy condensed milk bread!
