Ingredients

  • 2 racks of pork ribs
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Start by preparing the ribs. Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs for better flavor penetration. Season both sides of the ribs generously with salt and pepper.
  2. In a bowl, mix together the barbecue sauce, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika until well combined.
  3. Place one rack of ribs in the bottom of the crockpot, then pour half of the barbecue sauce mixture over the ribs, making sure they are well coated. Repeat with the second rack of ribs and the remaining sauce.
  4. Cover the crockpot and cook on low heat for 6-8 hours, or until the ribs are tender and cooked through. You can also cook them on high heat for 3-4 hours if you’re short on time.
  5. Once the ribs are done cooking, carefully remove them from the crockpot and place them on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil.
  6. Preheat your oven broiler on high. Brush the ribs with additional barbecue sauce from the crockpot and broil them in the oven for 3-5 minutes, or until the sauce is caramelized and slightly charred.
  7. Remove the ribs from the oven and let them rest for a few minutes before serving. Slice the ribs between the bones and serve with your favorite sides.
  8. Enjoy your delicious crockpot barbecue ribs!
