Indulge in the rich flavors of tender beef and savory mushrooms enveloped in a luscious creamy sauce with this delicious recipe.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound (450g) beef sirloin or tenderloin, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 8 ounces (225g) mushrooms, sliced (use your favorite variety)
  • 1 cup (240ml) beef broth
  • 1 cup (240ml) heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • Cooked pasta or rice (optional, for serving)

Directions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sliced beef in a single layer and cook until browned on both sides, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, add the diced onion and sauté until translucent, about 2-3 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook for another 1 minute, stirring constantly.
  3. Add the sliced mushrooms to the skillet and cook until they release their moisture and become golden brown, about 5-6 minutes.
  4. Sprinkle the flour over the mushroom mixture and stir well to combine. Cook for 1-2 minutes to remove the raw flour taste.
  5. Gradually pour in the beef broth while stirring constantly to prevent lumps from forming. Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook until slightly thickened, about 3-4 minutes.
  6. Stir in the heavy cream and return the cooked beef slices to the skillet. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Allow the mixture to simmer gently for another 5-7 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened and the beef is heated through.
  7. Once done, remove from heat. Serve the creamy mushroom beef over cooked pasta or rice if desired, garnished with chopped fresh parsley for a burst of color and freshness.
  8. Enjoy your creamy mushroom beef dish with your favorite sides and savor the comforting flavors!
